DESIGNER BIO: Stephanie Hung graduated with honors from both Helen Lefaux School of Fashion Design in 2003 and The Art Institute of Vancouver in 2006. After working 3 years at a local design firm as a production and design assistant, she was recruited in 2010 by Fairchild retail division to manage Ozone Fashion Gallery. Here she gained valuable experience and knowledge for her career.

A few years later Stephanie launched her own label Nina Tan Design. The Canadian label is named after her two best friends and muses the sweet and flirtatious Nina and hip and sexy Tanya.

This season Vancouver Fashion Week has the pleasure to collaborate with Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon, a foundation that makes a special child´s wish come true. Stephanie will work with her to co-design a custom-made gown that Alicia will showcase at VFW´s Opening Gala on March 18th. Alicia will be given the full VIP experience, walking the floor in Nina Tan’s Fall/Winter 2014 show. We are excited to provide a unique experience for the 15-years-old Alicia who’s passion is fashion and design.

This will be her second consecutive season for Stephanie Hung and Nina Tan Design with us and we are happy that she will attend the show.

DESIGNER BIO: An emerging designer from Victoria, B.C., Connally Mcdougall Design currently training at the prestigious Central Saint Martins in London, England. Her design work is produced by hand using traditional atelier techniques, luxury fabrics and utmost attention to quality.

Connally grew up in Mittersill, Austria, Budapest and Hungary. From traditional dirndls and lederhosen to costumes for theatre in Budapest, she was able to see from an early age how much time and work go into making one garment. Using architectural silhouettes and rich details, Connally designs for confident international women. Colour, texture and quality are fundamental and her work celebrates the curvature and angularity of the human body.

Balancing geometry and the cerebral side of design with instinct and passion is the goal. Believing that exposed flesh alone does not denote sensuality, her perspective is to show not just a woman’s beauty, but also her intellect, determination and strength.

Connally is sponsored by NICHE magazine!
